Meditation



As defined by Wikipedia, meditation is a practice where an individual uses a technique – such as mindfulness, or focusing the mind on a particular object, thought, or activity – to train attention and awareness, and achieve a mentally clear and emotionally calm and stable state. The overall goal of meditation is to be at peace with yourself and those around you. It can help you calm down, destress, and just relax. Incorporating meditation in your life can change the way you think and feel.


What does meditation look like?

There are numerous apps and videos on Youtube detailing meditation practices, but at the end of the day, it is all up to you. Meditation is a very personal practice, just like all other forms of self care. There are apps such as Headspace and Mindful that provide guided meditation videos. However, if you just search up meditation, you will get so many results. Meditation works with the energy inside of you, helping you channel your negative emotions and releasing them slowly.


As silly as it sounds, taking a few deep breaths a day can do so much for you. It is so crucial to focus on your mental health and prioritize yourself. You can try incorporating meditation into your daily life, even if it’s just for five minutes. You don’t know the benefits for you personally if you don’t try. Close your eyes, breathe, and just meditate.
